TO220 center lead spread and lock die assembly Supercut/RS4 - Iteco 162200

An offset center lead on its own does not yet hold the part in the hole. On the Supercut/RS4 this die assembly moves the center lead of the TO220 out of line and additionally forms a loop into that same lead, which locks the component in the board before soldering.

Operating features

• Offset and retention in one stroke - two forming steps are produced in the same operation, a second pass is avoided.
• The part does not fall out when the board is turned - the loop clamps the lead in the hole until the joint is soldered.
• Only the center lead is formed - the outer leads run straight into their holes.
• Cutting and forming in one stroke - a single press on the foot switch trims the leads and forms them in the same operation.
• 2000 pieces per hour - the pneumatic drive keeps the machine cycle steady over long production runs.
• Die change in seconds - the die assembly is replaced as a whole, no rebuilding of the machine is needed.

Wave soldered assemblies with TO220 power devices, lines with a turning station ahead of the solder bath, and boards where the component must stay seated until soldering.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die belongs to the 16x.xxx die range and works in the pneumatic cutting and forming machine Supercut/RS4, which Iteco lists under part number 7915.166. The machine is supplied without a die, every forming shape needs its own die assembly. The complete assembly is exchanged quickly and without rebuilding the machine. On the stronger Supercut/TS1 (Iteco 7915.171) the same forming shape carries the number 182200. On request Iteco supplies the machine with three cylinders and a custom die for non standard shapes. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
