Stand-off inward form die assembly for Supercut/TS1 machine - Iteco 181500

A radial component sitting flat on the board can neither be cleaned nor cooled underneath. Die assembly 181500 therefore forms an inward loop in both leads that acts as a spacer: the component rests on the loop, stands upright without further handling and keeps a constant gap to the board.

Operating features

• Defined gap to the board - the inward loop carries the body and keeps the space for cleaning and heat dissipation open
• Component stays put before soldering - the support limits tilting and shifting while the populated board travels to the solder stage
• Loop formed inwards - the shape stays within the lead pitch, so the drilling pattern is unchanged compared with an outward loop
• Forming and trimming in one stroke - both dies work at the same time and the leads leave the tool formed and cut to length
• 2000 components per hour - manual top feed and foot pedal release keep that output in continuous work

Applications

Electrolytic capacitors, resistors with higher dissipation and parts that must stand securely before wave soldering. Also for assemblies that are cleaned after soldering and need a gap under the component body.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die assembly works only in the pneumatic Supercut/TS1, which Iteco supplies without tooling under part number 7915.171. On the smaller Supercut/RS4 (7915.166) the same forming shape carries part number 161500. Changing to another forming shape of the range takes only a few moves and the machine stays the same. On request Iteco supplies the machine with a wire holder system and in a three cylinder version with custom dies for special shapes. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
