In warehouses, goods-in and production, operators need to move freely and stay grounded. The 248555 heel grounder drains charge through the ESD floor and fits almost all flat shoes. Its built-in 1 megohm resistor also makes it suitable for floors with a very low resistance to ground.

Applications

Personnel grounding wherever mobility is needed and ESD flooring or floor mats are installed. Floors with a resistance to ground between 1 and 20 megohms are preferred. The rubber strap runs under and around the back of the shoe, and the conductive tab passes over the side into the shoe where it contacts the foot. Socks do not usually insulate, because natural perspiration completes the path.

Standards

Designed for grounding via a person, footwear and flooring system per IEC 61340-5-1: total resistance below 1.0 x 10⁹ ohms and body voltage below 100 V. Wear on both feet and check daily with a footwear tester. If the test fails, clean the grounder and tab and test again.
