Wescorp ESD toe grounder, two-layer rubber, non-marking, 1 megohm resistor - Desco 249266

A toe grounder keeps the wearer grounded even when leaning forward or standing on the balls of the feet, when the heel barely touches the floor. The Wescorp 249266 toe grounder fits on the toe of the shoe and drains charge through its black conductive rubber layer and the 1 megohm safety resistor into the ESD floor. Rg is 1 x 10⁶ to below 1 x 10⁷ ohms.

Applications

For staff who move freely around the EPA in assembly, kitting, warehousing or test areas, used together with a grounded ESD floor. Run the grounding tab into the shoe under the foot so it contacts the skin through the sock. Wear toe grounders on both feet or pair them with the matching Wescorp 249265 heel grounder. Clean the rubber with a silicone-free ESD cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.

Standards

Meets the footwear requirements of IEC 61340-5-1, tested per IEC 61340-4-3. For the person, footwear and flooring system the limits are a total resistance below 1 x 10⁹ ohms and body voltage below 100 V. Following ESD SP9.2, check the function before each use, daily or at shift change, and again before re-entering the EPA.
