Under 1600 W of infrared bottom heat a large board softens and sags in the middle. That is usually exactly where the rework component sits, and a warp of a few tenths of a millimetre is enough for the HR 500 placement with its 50 x 50 mm field of view to miss the pads. The 0HR504-01 support rail catches the board with one pin at that very point.

Removing and replacing BGA, QFN and large SMT parts on thin or wide assemblies where sag spoils the coplanarity of the solder balls. Rails with more pins can be combined when several support points are needed.
