Large multilayers and heavy copper pull the heat out of the joint. The Ersa HR 550XL answers with 6400 W of bottom heat spread over eight separately controlled 800 W zones across 530 x 530 mm, and a 1900 W hybrid top emitter working on 70 x 70 mm.

What the XL version is built for

• 8200 W of total heating power, of which 6400 W come from a bottom heater with eight 800 W zones over 530 x 530 mm.
• Boards up to 530 x 610 mm and beyond, which is 20.8 x 24 inches.
• Placement accuracy down to plus minus 25 µm, supported by a force sensor and computer aided placement CAP.
• Vision box with a 5 MP camera, wide field of 70 x 70 mm and tele field of 25 x 33 mm, plus two sided LED lighting in red and green.
• Joystick control unit for the X, Y and rotation axes, with the process run from Ersa HRSoft2.
• Component range from 0.2 x 0.4 mm to 70 x 70 mm, with 35 mm clearance below and 60 mm above.

Use and compatibility

The HR 550XL targets power electronics, backplanes and large format assemblies where standard systems reach their thermal limit. A three phase 400 V, 16 A supply is a prerequisite. A mount for the Ersa Dip and Print station is provided.
