Anti-static hand brush 280 mm, widest in the range, no cord - Kinetronics SW-280

Large formats cost strokes. Clearing a framing glass, an acrylic sheet or a display panel with a narrow brush means setting down and starting again over and over, and every overlap stays visible. The Kinetronics StaticWisk SW-280 takes 280 mm at a time, the widest hand brush in a range that runs from 20 mm to 280 mm. The conductive handle and conductive fibers carry the charge away, so the surface stays electrically neutral once the stroke is finished.

Applications

Kinetronics lists the StaticWisk range for lenses, filters, SLR mirrors and optical components, film and film strips, scanner and framing glass, monitors and displays, acrylic and plastic surfaces, electronic assemblies and circuit boards, jewellery, glass, instruments and technical equipment. The narrow widths are intended for lenses and film strips without risking the coating, while the 280 mm of the SW-280 is explicitly the size for working across an area: framing and repro work, scanner and copier platens, monitor and display assembly, acrylic and plastic sheet fabrication. Where the same surface recharges after every handling step, the SW-281 offers the same width with a grounding cord.

Setup and care

The brush must not be used above 65 °C. Wash soiled fibers with a mild shampoo, then comb them and leave them to dry flat overnight on a level surface. The anti-static properties survive the wash. Keep the brush in the supplied container between jobs so the fibers do not take a set.
