Antistatic brush for laminators 750 mm, inner span 805 to 920 mm - Kinetronics SWL-750

Plastic film picks up a heavy charge as it unwinds, and that charge pulls dust onto the web where it stays visible in the finished laminate. The StaticWisk SWL-750 clamps between the cheeks of the machine frame on its magnetic feet and carries the charge away through a 3.5 m grounding cable. The figure that decides the fit is the adjustable inner span: this size seats in frames measuring 805 to 920 mm.

Applications

The main case is laminating and coating machines running film from the roll. Film without a charge comes off the roll flat, which makes the laminate smoother. The manufacturer recommends one brush on the upper film and one on the lower film, because otherwise only one of the two webs is discharged. Use is not limited to laminators: the brush can be mounted wherever static charge on film, paper or web material causes trouble. Custom lengths up to 3100 mm are available on request.

Mounting and care

To mount the brush, back the supplied screws out of the brush ends until the magnetic feet sit firmly against the machine frame. The brush is tensioned between the cheeks of the frame. Then fasten the grounding cable to the frame, since without that connection there is no path to ground. Long brushes may not be held safely by the supplied magnets alone. In that case the manufacturer recommends an additional steel or aluminium support, and mounting holes in the upper section of the profile are provided for it. A risk assessment before installation is advisable. The fibres are synthetic and rated up to 65 °C.
