Anti-static brush 1525 mm for film and laminating machines, 1595 to 1710 mm inner width - Kinetronics SWL-1525

Film unwound from a roll picks up an electrostatic charge that attracts dust and spoils the laminate. The StaticWisk SWL-1525 clamps between the side frames of the machine on its magnetic feet and carries that charge away through a 3.5 m grounding cable. The adjustable inner width runs from 1595 to 1710 mm, brush length is 1525 mm.

Benefits

Application

The usual job is film lamination. A charge-free web leaves the roll flat, which makes the laminate smoother. Use is not limited to laminators: the brush fits wherever static on film, paper or web material causes trouble and a 1525 mm body fits between the side frames. The synthetic fibres are rated up to 65 °C. Because of that length the brush does not ship as a standard parcel, freight cost is quoted separately. Custom lengths up to 3100 mm are available on request.

Mounting and safety

To install the brush, unscrew the supplied screws out of the brush ends until the magnetic feet sit firmly against the machine frame, which clamps the brush between the side frames. Then fasten the grounding cable to the frame. At this length the manufacturer points out that the supplied magnets may not be sufficient on their own. An additional support made of steel or aluminium is recommended, and fixing holes can be drilled in the upper section of the aluminium profile. A risk assessment before installation is advisable, and correct installation remains the responsibility of the operator.
