FAQ
- Which stations do these tips work with?
- The tips are made for the TD-100 and TD-100A iron. It runs on IntelliHeat stations such as ST 30, ST 50, ST 70, ST 100, MBT 301 and MBT 350.
- How do the 1124, 1126 and 1128 series differ?
- The 1126 Long-Life Diamond series is designed for extended service life. 1128 is the Gold Series, and 1124 includes the MiniWave and Micro-Wave tips among others.
- When to use MiniWave and when Micro-Wave?
- MiniWave concaves from 1.6 to 3.05 mm are intended for drag soldering QFP and SOIC. Micro-Wave at 1.1 mm carries less solder and suits pin pitches around 0.5 mm, for example TSSOP and fine-pitch QFP.
- Which tip width makes sense?
- The tip should cover the pad well without touching neighbouring pads. A tip around 1 mm is enough for chip components and SOIC pins, while chisels from 3 mm suit ground pads and connector strips.
