A new bench usually stalls on the tip that is missing. This set gives the Quick 3104 four tip shapes and a 100 g reel of lead free Sn100Ni+ wire, while the station holds its setpoint within 2 °C and reaches 350 °C in about 39 seconds.

Why four tips are in the box

• 960-I needle point at 0.2 mm for fine pitch and single leads
• 960-3.2D chisel at 3.2 mm for ground planes, headers and heavy pads
• 960-2C bevel at 45 degrees, 2 mm, for drag soldering along QFP rows
• 960-B pencil point at 0.5 mm as the general purpose shape for leaded parts
• Sn100Ni+ solder wire, 1.0 mm on a 100 g reel, lead free and matched to the 450 °C range
• ESD build, tip to ground resistance below 2 ohm and tip potential below 2 mV
