Stand-off die with 3 leads in line TO218 for Supercut/TOCF - Iteco 132800

TO218 transistors dissipate a lot of heat and therefore often must not rest flat on the board. On the Supercut/TOCF this die assembly forms a stand-off loop into the three leads of the TO218, which stay in line. The package then sits at a defined distance above the laminate.

Operating features

• Gap above the board - the loop acts as a spacer, the package does not touch the base material.
• Leads stay in line - the die does not displace the center lead, so the straight hole pattern of the layout remains valid.
• Built for the large TO218 package - forming geometry and clamping range are dimensioned for TO218, not for TO220.
• Cleaning after soldering - the gap under the package lets flux residues be washed out.
• Up to 3000 pieces per hour - the machine forms at its normal rate without a manual intermediate step.

Applications

Power assemblies where air has to circulate under the TO218, boards with a mandatory cleaning step after wave soldering, and layouts with a straight lead row and no staggered center pad.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die fits only the Supercut/TOCF automatic machine (Iteco 7915.176 and 7915.177). The machine arrives without tooling, every shape needs its own die, and each package requires the matching clamping piece and tube holder. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
