90 degree bending die with center lead 5 mm out TO220 for Supercut/TOCF - Iteco 133100

If a TO220 is to be screwed flat onto a heat sink, its leads have to be bent by 90 degrees towards the board. On the Supercut/TOCF this die performs both required steps at once: it bends the leads by 90 degrees and at the same time moves the center lead 5 mm out, so that it meets the staggered pad in the layout.

Operating features

• 90 degree bend for flat mounting - the package can be screwed onto a heat sink or chassis plate.
• Center lead 5 mm out - the middle wire leaves the row by a fixed amount and matches the staggered pad.
• Two shapes in one die - bend and offset are produced in the same cycle, without a second setup.
• Repeatable geometry - the sliding die works against a wire holder, so every part leaves the machine with the same bending point.
• Up to 3000 pieces per hour - forming runs at the normal cycle rate of the machine.

Applications

Assemblies with power semiconductors mounted flat on a heat sink or on sheet metal: switch mode power supplies, output stages, chargers and drive electronics. The offset center lead allows wider spacing between the solder pads.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die belongs to the Supercut/TOCF automatic machine (Iteco 7915.176 and 7915.177) and works only there. The machine ships without tooling, every shape needs its own die, and each package additionally requires the matching clamping piece and tube holder. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
