Vermason Compact wrist strap tester with wall plate, 9 V battery powered - Desco 222506

If wrist straps have to be checked once per shift, the EPA entrance needs a tester that works without training. The Vermason Compact Tester measures the resistance of the complete circuit of band, coiled cord and body and tells you at once whether it lies between 750 kilohms and 35 megohms. The supplied wall plate turns it into a fixed test point at the door or workstation.

Applications

Put on the wrist strap, plug the coiled cord into the tester and press the contact plate with one or two fingers. On a fail high, check the cord on its own first, then the fit of the band. Dry skin can be treated with ESD hand lotion. Suited to labs, repair benches and smaller production areas.

Standards

The limits follow EN 61340-5-1, the procedure follows the CLC/TR 61340-5-2 user guide, which names once per shift as the usual test frequency for wrist straps.
