A large BGA carries mass, and that mass has to stay on the vacuum while the head travels between component camera and joint. The 8 mm silicone cup provides a much larger sealing face than the small cups, without becoming stiff and marking the package. The HR 550 handles components up to 70 x 70 mm, and the 8 mm cup is the right size for that upper end.

Applications
Picking and placing large SMT components in rework. Use the matching smaller cup for small packages, because an oversized cup overhangs the component edge and draws false air.
