Anti-static machine-mount brush 500 mm for web material, ground cord - Kinetronics SWG-500

Paper, plastic film and fabric charge up on their way through the line, at every guide roller and every sliding element. What follows is familiar in any plant: webs cling together, dust settles, stacks drift out of register. The SWG-500 is installed permanently in the machine and neutralises the web across 500 mm through its conductive fibres and the supplied ground cord. In the manufacturer's test on polyethylene film at 1 m/s with about 20 kV initial charge, less than 5 percent of the charge is left behind a correctly mounted brush.

Applications

With 500 mm of working width the brush fits webs in packaging, printing and laminating, on paper as readily as on film or fabric. It is mounted at the unwind, behind a guide roller or ahead of the next station. Its effect reaches only the area near the mounting point, so one position is not enough on a long path over several rollers. Besides 500 mm the series offers 100, 200, 300, 400 and 625 mm, with custom lengths on request.

Mounting and care

The brush sits on the 150 mm magnetic base, with two preloaded ball joints (M6 thread) setting distance and angle to the web. At this length the manufacturer's safety note carries real weight: longer brushes may not be held safely by the supplied magnets alone. An additional steel or aluminium support is recommended, and fixing holes may be drilled in the upper section of the aluminium extrusion. Proper installation is the operator's responsibility, and a risk assessment before installing long brushes is advisable. Connect the ground cord to a clean earth point. Factory spares: replacement magnet with articulated arm (art. 378.1) and EB-SWG-100 replacement brushes.
