Anti-static machine-mount brush 625 mm for wide webs, longest standard size - Kinetronics SWG-625

At 625 mm this is the longest standard size in the StaticWisk range. On wide webs of paper, film or fabric, winders and guide rollers build a charge that shows up later as clinging material, attracted dust and damaged stock. The SWG-625 is built into the machine and drains that charge through its conductive fibres and the supplied ground cord. The manufacturer measured it on polyethylene film at 1 m/s with an initial charge of about 20 kV: behind a correctly mounted brush the outgoing charge stays below 5 percent.

Benefits

Applications

At 625 mm this version covers the widest webs in the standard programme, in packaging, in the graphics trade and anywhere paper, film or fabric runs continuously. Wider webs are served by custom lengths on request, narrower ones by the 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 mm versions. A single brush only neutralises close to its mounting point, so brushes are installed in sequence where the path runs over several rollers.

Mounting and care

On the longest version in the range, mounting comes first. The manufacturer states explicitly that longer brushes may not be held safely by the supplied magnets alone and recommends an additional steel or aluminium support. Fixing holes can be drilled in the upper section of the aluminium extrusion. Proper installation is the operator's responsibility, and a risk assessment before installing long brushes is advisable. Fine adjustment is handled by the 150 mm magnetic base with its two preloaded ball joints (M6 thread). Connect the ground cord to a clean earth point. Factory spares: replacement magnet with articulated arm (art. 378.1) and EB-SWG-100 replacement brushes.
