Anti-static brush 2100 mm for film and laminating machines, 2330 to 2445 mm inner width - Kinetronics SWL-2100

The SWL-2100 is the longest standard size in the StaticWisk series, which starts at 300 mm. Its 2100 mm brush length serves machines with an adjustable inner width of 2330 to 2445 mm and strips the web of the charge built up during unwinding, before that charge can attract dust. The charge goes to the machine frame through a 3.5 m grounding cable.

Application

This brush belongs on wide film laminators, where a charged web collects dust as soon as it comes off the roll. A charge-free web runs flat and the laminate turns out smoother. It works just as well on winding, printing and converting lines as long as a 2100 mm body fits between the side frames. The synthetic fibres are rated up to 65 °C. Because of that length the brush does not ship as a standard parcel, freight cost is quoted separately. Beyond 2100 mm, custom lengths up to 3100 mm are available on request.

Mounting and safety

To install the brush, unscrew the supplied screws out of the brush ends until the magnetic feet sit firmly against the machine frame, then fasten the grounding cable to the frame. At a body length of 2100 mm the manufacturer's warning deserves particular attention: the supplied magnets may not be enough to hold the brush safely. An additional support made of steel or aluminium is recommended, and fixing holes can be drilled in the upper section of the aluminium profile. A risk assessment before installation is advisable, and correct installation remains the responsibility of the operator.
