Soldering Tips Ultra Fine UFTC

Soldering and desoldering tips

The UFTC series (Ultra-Fine Tip Cartridge) covers 13 soldering tips with tip diameters from 0.13 to 0.8 mm for Metcal MX-5000 and MX-5200 handpieces. Conical tips start at 0.13 mm (UFTC-7CN01) and 0.2 mm (UFTC-7CN02) with a shank length of 5.1 mm; the long version (UFTC-7CNL04, 0.4 x 8 mm) provides more clearance from the board. Bent conical variants (UFTC-7CNB02, 7CNB04) and chisel-form UFTC (7CH06, 7CH08) at 0.6/0.8 mm width complete the range for micro-soldering work under magnification.

0.13 mm tip UFTC-7CN01 - smallest tip in the MX family; for micro-SMD components below 0201 size or individual bond pads
Conical long UFTC-7CNL04 - 8 mm shank length instead of 5.1 mm; greater clearance from the board body, reduced collision risk in dense assemblies
Conical bent 7CNB02/7CNB04 - for pads under components or behind shielding walls where straight tips cannot reach
🔥 Chisel 0.6/0.8 mm - UFTC-7CH06/7CH08 for ultra-fine pad areas; higher heat transfer than conical at the same precision level
MX-5000/5200 only - UFTC cartridges are not designed for older MX handpieces or MX-H1-AV; verify handpiece compatibility beforehand

Typical applications: Micro-soldering under stereo or digital microscope with pad pitches below 0.3 mm, repair of micro-BGA and flip-chip interconnects, sensor soldering in medical and instrumentation engineering (thermocouples, strain gauge connections), prototype development with pitches below 0.4 mm, and rework on CSP and WL-CSP components in semiconductor assembly.
