Tweezer tips TATC
Soldering and desoldering tips
TATC tweezer tips are paired tips designed for the Metcal Talon soldering tweezer handpiece. The range includes four variants in series 500 (302 °C) and series 600 (357 °C) temperature classes: SMD desoldering tip pairs (TATC-503, TATC-506) and conical soldering tip pairs for fine SMD work (TATC-601, 1.2 x 0.5 mm) and blade-type tweezer tips for wider pads (TATC-605, 10 x 10.93 mm).
| Model | Type | Dimensions (mm) | Temperature class |
|---|---|---|---|
| TATC-503 | SMD desoldering tips (pair) | (standard) | Series 500 / 302 °C |
| TATC-506 | SMD desoldering tips (pair) | (varies) | Series 500 / 302 °C |
| TATC-601 | Tweezer tips conical | 1.2 x 0.5 | Series 600 / 357 °C |
| TATC-605 | Tweezer tips blade | 10 x 10.93 | Series 600 / 357 °C |
Paired tip principle - both arms of the Talon tweezer heat simultaneously; the SMD component is heated evenly from left and right
TATC-503/506 for desoldering - series 500 (302 °C) for low-residue desoldering of small chip components; lower temperature protects adjacent parts
TATC-601 for fine soldering - conical 1.2 x 0.5 mm, series 600 (357 °C); for SMD resistors, capacitors and small SOD diodes
TATC-605 for wider components - blade 10 x 10.93 mm; for larger SMD components and thermal pad connections
Typical applications: Desoldering and resoldering small SMD chip components (0402 to 1206) under magnification, simultaneous grip and heat with one hand during SMD single-component replacement, repair under stereo microscope in electronics workshops, and prototype work with frequently changing component geometries.
