Center lead offset and cut die TO218 for Supercut/TOCF machine - Iteco 132500

The TO218 package is wider and its leads are heavier than on a TO220, which is why it needs a die of its own. This assembly cuts the leads to length on the Supercut/TOCF and at the same time moves the center lead out of line, so the part fits a layout with a staggered middle pad.

Operating features

• Dimensioned for TO218 - cavity and stops follow the wider body, a TO220 die cannot be used instead.
• Cut and offset in one stroke - both operations take place in the same machine cycle.
• Heavy leads kept under control - the pneumatic wire holder clamps before forming and holds the thick lead material in place.
• Repeatable lead pitch - the offset is defined by the die instead of by hand bending.
• Up to 3000 pieces per hour - the machine processes TO218 at the same rate as smaller packages.

Applications

Preparing power transistors and diodes in TO218 packages for frequency converters, welding power sources and high current supplies whose boards use a staggered center pad.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die works only in the Supercut/TOCF automatic machine, which Iteco supplies under part numbers 7915.176 and 7915.177 in the 115 V and 230 V versions. The machine ships without tooling and every forming shape needs its own die. Each component package additionally requires the matching clamping piece and tube holder. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
