TO220 die assembly center lead spread with lock on all three leads - Iteco 182300

The heavier a TO220 is, the less a single lock can do. Die assembly 182300 offsets the center lead and forms a loop in each of the three leads, so the part is caught at three points in the board. This is the highest retention offered by the TO220 dies of this range.

Operating features

• Locked at three points - every lead receives a loop, so the part can neither lift nor tilt
• Heavy parts included - transistors with a large tab stay inserted while the board is turned and moved
• Offset center lead - the staggered drilling pattern also widens the distances between the solder joints
• Three forming steps and the cut in one stroke - all loops are made at once and the leads leave the die at equal length
• 2000 components per hour - the more elaborate shape does not change the output of the machine

Applications

Power stages with large TO220 transistors, assemblies that are handled several times before wave soldering, and production without component frames where every part has to stay in the board on its own.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die assembly works only in the pneumatic Supercut/TS1, which Iteco supplies without tooling under part number 7915.171. On the smaller Supercut/RS4 (7915.166) the same forming shape carries part number 162300. Changing to another forming shape of the range takes only a few moves and the machine stays the same. On request Iteco supplies the machine with a wire holder system and in a three cylinder version with custom dies for special shapes. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
