Maintenance units and components
The Aventics Series AS5 is a maintenance unit for high-flow applications with G 3/4 and G 1 connections rated to 16 bar. The range covers pre-filters (AS5-FLP), 3/2-way valves (AS5-SOV) in electrical (24 VDC, 110/230 VAC, PVN-DO16) and pneumatic actuation, charge units (AS5-SSU) and charge valves (AS5-SSV) for pressure-safe switching, and distributors (AS5-DIN, AS5-DIS) for consolidating multiple outlets.
AS5-SSV charge valves are available in pneumatically actuated versions (PNE) with and without internal control (FIS-INT). AS5-SOV directional valves include a CNOMO interface version (PVC-CNOMO) for use at CNOMO machine interfaces.

The AS5-SSU charge unit allows the downstream pneumatic circuit to be pressurised gradually: the AS5-SOV directional valve first closes, then the charge unit opens a bypass orifice slowly, builds up pressure smoothly and finally releases the main valve. This prevents pressure shocks at switch-on and protects valves, cylinders and tools from overload. AS5-SOV valves with DO16 control input can be connected directly to safety controllers in PLCopen-based systems.
Typical applications: Main isolation and controlled start-up of compressed-air circuits in large machinery and transfer lines, compressed-air supply to high-throughput valve islands, energy-saving systems with automatic compressed-air shut-off at machine standstill, and CNOMO interface connections in the automotive industry (PVC-CNOMO version).
