Pneumatic connection technology
Aventics Series NU2 fittings with union nut connect hoses and tubing to pneumatic components via a releasable clamping joint. The union nut forces a cone seal or cutting ring against the tube outer diameter, producing a permanently leak-free connection that can be undone without tools when required.
The NU2 range covers straight connectors (RW1, RNU), elbows (RTS), straight male stud fittings (RPN) and combined versions. Tube diameters run from DA 4 to DA 9 mm with thread sizes G 1/8, G 1/4 and G 3/8; M5 versions are also available. Seal-type suffixes (SSN, PBS, PNB, SSS) indicate the sealing arrangement and pressure class.
The three key parameters are the tube outer diameter (DA 4, 6 or 9 mm), the mating port thread (G 1/8 to G 3/8 or M5) and the installation angle (straight or 90-degree elbow). Seal type follows operating pressure and media compatibility: PBS and SSN cover general pneumatic applications, while PNB versions handle higher working pressures. The HO (with lubricator port) or AO (without) suffix indicates whether the fitting is intended for lubricated or non-lubricated air lines.
Typical applications: Hose and tubing connections on pneumatic cylinders, maintenance units and valve blocks in production equipment, junction points in compressed-air distribution systems requiring frequent reconfiguration, assembly lines with interchangeable tooling carriers, and repair or extension work on existing Aventics NU2 installations.
