Cylinder attachments and accessories
Festo locking elements hold the piston rod of a pneumatic cylinder in its current position even when operating pressure is lost or the cylinder is exhausted. The range includes locking cartridges of the KP series (bores 4 to 32 mm, holding forces 80 to 7500 N) and complete locking units KPE (bores 4 to 32 mm). For newer actuators, DADL electric locking units (bore 16 to 40 mm) and DADL-EC clamping elements are also available.

Typical applications: Lifting axes requiring fall-arrest protection on pressure loss, clamping fixtures that must maintain clamping force after exhausting, work machinery with safety requirements at the piston rod rest position, and vertically mounted cylinders carrying a load weight on the piston rod.
