Cylinder attachments and accessories
Festo freewheels allow a pneumatic rotary actuator or piston rod to rotate freely and with low resistance in one direction while locking against rotation in the opposite direction. The FLSM series (external thread for direct piston rod mounting) and FLSR series (sleeve version) are available in sizes from 6 to 40 mm in both left-hand (L) and right-hand (R) versions. The range covers 28 items for all common mounting geometries.
FLSM series - external thread version for direct mounting on piston rods, bore 6-40 mm
FLSR series - sleeve version, bore 10-32 mm, for other mounting geometries
Left/right selectable - FLSM/FLSR-…-L (left) and -R (right), depending on direction requirement
Freewheel principle - free rotation in one direction, mechanical locking in the opposite direction
Compact design - direct mounting without external coupling elements

Typical applications: Rotary actuators requiring torque in one direction only while allowing free return rotation under load, ratchet-principle indexing drives, and rotary drives in packaging machinery where a backstop is required to prevent reverse movement.
