Anti-static brush 300 mm for laminators, inner width 350 to 465 mm - Kinetronics SWL-300

Plastic film picks up a heavy charge as it unwinds from the roll, attracts dust and contaminates the finished laminate. The StaticWisk SWL-300 clamps between the side frames of the machine and leaves less than 5 percent of the original charge near the mounting point. What decides the order is not the 300 mm brush length but the inner width of your machine. This size adjusts to fit 350 to 465 mm.

Applications

Film that carries no charge runs flat off the roll, which makes the laminate smoother and keeps dust from settling between the layers. The manufacturer recommends one brush on the upper and one on the lower film, because only mounting on both sides brings the potential at the contact point under 1 kV. Use is not limited to laminators, the brush mounts the same way wherever static on film or paper causes trouble. The maximum operating temperature is 65 °C.

Mounting and care

The brush is clamped directly between the side cheeks of the machine frame. Unscrew the supplied screws out of the brush ends until the magnetic feet sit firmly against the frame. Then fasten the 3.5 m ground cable to the frame with its cable lug, without that connection the collected charge has no path to earth. For a bolted fixing as well, holes can be drilled in the upper section of the aluminium profile. A risk assessment before installation is advisable, and correct installation remains the responsibility of the operator.
