Cylinder accessories
Aventics locking units from the LU1 and LU6 series clamp the piston rod of a pneumatic cylinder at any stroke position without compressed air supply. The LU1 series covers bore sizes 32, 40, 50/63 and 80/100 mm and is available in two generations: LU1 and the newer LU6. The holding unit HU1 (bore sizes 20-100 mm) is also available, providing spring-force clamping of the piston rod for lighter-duty retention.
Series LU1 and LU6 - spring-force locking, pneumatic release (fail-safe design)
Bore sizes 32-100 mm - 4 sizes (LU1: 32, 40, 50/63, 80/100 mm; LU6 same pitch)
Holding unit HU1 - bore sizes 20-100 mm (7 sizes), for lighter holding forces
Fail-safe principle - clamp activates on air loss, critical for suspended loads
27 stock positions - LU1, LU6 and HU1 in all bore sizes

Typical applications: Securing suspended loads on vertical cylinder strokes (e.g. lift units, gantries), position locking during machining processes without continuous compressed air, emergency safety in circuits on air supply failure, and arresting clamping fixtures and holders in special-purpose machines.
