Valves
Festo flow control valves regulate volumetric flow in pneumatic circuits through adjustable throttling. The core range consists of one-way flow control valves in the GR, GRA, GRLA and CRGRLA series, which restrict flow in one direction while allowing unrestricted flow in the other. Thread sizes span M3 and M5 to G 1/2; push-in tube versions (QS-3 to QS-12) complement the standard range. 142 articles cover the common nominal sizes for cylinder, gripper and transfer applications.

Key selection factors are port size, installation position and desired throttle direction (exhaust-side or supply-side). Exhaust-side throttling directly at the cylinder port gives smoother motion profiles. QS push-in variants reduce assembly time; the RS variant of the GRLA series can be converted to spring-return function by modification. For vibration-prone environments, the GRA series with knurled locking ring is recommended.
Typical applications: Speed control of pneumatic cylinders (extension and retraction speed), throttling on grippers, rotary actuators and vacuum ejectors, managing exhaust flows on valve islands, and setting delay times in pneumatic control circuits.
