Preforming die stand-off lock-in with polarity keying for LEDs Supercut/TS1 - Iteco 181200

Trimming leaded LEDs destroys their most important identifying feature, the longer anode wire. This Supercut/TS1 die forms both leads asymmetrically so that the polarity can still be read from the component after the cut. In addition it sets the stand-off bead and the lock-in clinch like the standard LED die 180700.

Operating benefits

• Asymmetric forming preserves the polarity feature, anode and cathode stay distinguishable after the cut
• Reverse insertion during manual placement is avoided because the keying is on the component itself and not only on the packaging
• The stand-off bead keeps the LED at a constant mounting height for the front panel
• The lock-in below the board secures the LED when the assembly is turned over
• Difference to number 180700: there both leads are formed to the same length without polarity keying

Compatibility and scope of delivery

This die assembly is intended exclusively for the pneumatic cutting and forming machine Supercut/TS1 (Iteco 7915.171). The machine is supplied without a die, so the die has to be ordered separately. Changing to a different lead form takes only a few movements, which lets one machine cover several component shapes. The same form is available as number 161200 for the smaller Supercut/RS4 (Iteco 7915.166) - the two number ranges are not interchangeable. Scope of delivery: one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
