Choose LINE CUPLA 200 when two or five air lines have to be taken from one supply line at the same point, at a working pressure of up to 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2}. MICRO CUPLA, SMALL CUPLA, COMPACT CUPLA, CUBE CUPLA and SUPER CUPLA are rated 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} and are therefore limited to lower pressure lines. Its couplings are one-way shut-off; where both sides of the line must close on disconnection, COMPACT CUPLA and CUBE CUPLA offer two-way shut-off, while LEVER LOCK CUPLA is straight through with no shut-off valve.

What are Nitto Kohki Line Cupla quick disconnect couplings and which industries use them?
Nitto Kohki Line Cupla quick disconnect couplings are low-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic connectors designed for operating pressures up to 19 bar with aluminum and steel construction featuring NBR sealing elements. These couplings serve manufacturing industries requiring frequent connection and disconnection of pneumatic tools, automated assembly lines, packaging equipment, and light hydraulic applications. The Line Cupla series enables rapid system reconfiguration without tools while maintaining secure pressure sealing through precision-machined coupling mechanisms. Primary applications include automotive assembly, food processing equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and general industrial automation where reliable quick-connect functionality is essential for operational efficiency.
What technical specifications should engineers consider when selecting Line Cupla couplings?
Engineers must evaluate operating pressure requirements up to 19 bar maximum, media compatibility with compressed air and compatible hydraulic fluids, and connection port configurations available in the LineCupla200 series including L-type, S-type, and T-type variants. The aluminum and steel construction with NBR sealing provides chemical resistance for standard industrial media while ensuring mechanical durability under repeated connect-disconnect cycles. Flow capacity, pressure drop characteristics, and coupling retention force must match application demands, particularly in automated systems where coupling integrity affects production reliability. Temperature operating range and seal material compatibility determine suitability for specific process environments and fluid types encountered in pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
Which ISO and DIN standards apply to Nitto Kohki Line Cupla quick disconnect couplings?
Nitto Kohki Line Cupla couplings comply with ISO 4414 pneumatic system safety standards and ISO 7241 hydraulic quick-action couplings specifications for pressure ratings and performance requirements. DIN 3489 governs quick-acting coupling dimensions and connection standards for European industrial applications, ensuring interchangeability with other compliant coupling systems. The NBR sealing materials meet DIN 53504 elastomer specifications for chemical resistance and temperature stability in industrial fluid applications. Manufacturing quality follows ISO 9001 certification requirements, while pressure testing procedures align with EN 982 safety standards for pneumatic components operating at pressures up to 19 bar in industrial environments.
What are the differences between LineCupla200-L, LineCupla200-S, and LineCupla200-T coupling variants?
The LineCupla200-L variant features a locking mechanism design optimized for permanent installations requiring secure connection retention under vibration and pressure fluctuations. LineCupla200-S incorporates a standard quick-disconnect configuration for general-purpose applications with balanced ease of connection and retention strength suitable for manual operation. The LineCupla200-T variant provides a twist-lock coupling mechanism that combines rapid connection with enhanced security through rotational locking action, ideal for applications requiring both speed and positive retention confirmation. All three variants utilize identical aluminum and steel construction with NBR seals, maintaining 19 bar pressure rating while offering different engagement and retention characteristics to match specific application requirements.
What installation requirements and system compatibility factors apply to Line Cupla couplings?
Line Cupla installations require clean, burr-free pipe ends with proper thread preparation according to DIN 3852 or equivalent threading standards to ensure leak-tight connections and proper coupling alignment. System compatibility depends on media cleanliness levels, with filtration recommended to ISO 8573 Class 7 or better to prevent contamination damage to NBR seals and coupling mechanisms. Operating pressure must remain within the 19 bar maximum rating with appropriate system pressure regulation and relief valve protection to prevent overpressure conditions. Connection orientation and accessibility for manual coupling operation must accommodate the specific engagement mechanism of L-type, S-type, or T-type variants while maintaining proper support for connected pneumatic or hydraulic lines.
What safety ratings and environmental operating limits apply to Nitto Kohki Line Cupla couplings?
Nitto Kohki Line Cupla couplings operate safely at pressures up to 19 bar with NBR seals providing temperature stability from -20°C to +80°C in standard industrial environments without degradation of sealing performance. The aluminum and steel construction meets mechanical strength requirements for industrial pneumatic applications with appropriate safety factors according to ISO 4414 pressure vessel standards. Environmental protection varies by installation configuration, with proper housing achieving IP54 ingress protection against dust and water spray when correctly installed with appropriate cable glands and sealing. Safety factor calculations must account for pressure spikes, temperature variations, and cyclic loading conditions typical in automated pneumatic systems to ensure reliable operation throughout the coupling service life.
What maintenance schedule and service life expectations apply to Line Cupla quick disconnect couplings?
Line Cupla couplings require visual inspection every 500 operating cycles or quarterly for seal integrity, coupling mechanism wear, and connection security according to ISO 4414 maintenance guidelines for pneumatic components. NBR seal replacement typically occurs every 50,000 cycles or annually depending on operating pressure, temperature cycling, and media contamination levels encountered in service. Coupling mechanism lubrication with compatible pneumatic oil every 1,000 cycles maintains smooth operation and extends service life beyond 100,000 connect-disconnect cycles under normal industrial conditions. Complete coupling replacement becomes necessary when visual inspection reveals seal degradation, mechanical wear affecting retention force, or pressure testing indicates leakage exceeding 1% of system pressure per ISO 7241 acceptance criteria for hydraulic quick-action couplings.
