Parallel gripper SHZ
Cylinder
Parallel grippers SHZ by EMC are pneumatic two-jaw grippers in which both jaws move synchronously and parallel to the centre axis. The series covers bore diameters 10, 16, 20 and 25 mm, each available in three variants: double-acting (standard), single-acting normally open (FO, external gripping) and single-acting normally closed (FS, internal gripping). Repair kits (REP) are available per bore diameter.
The FO variant opens the jaws in the de-pressurised state and is designed for external gripping; the FS variant keeps the jaws closed when de-pressurised and is intended for internal gripping. The double-acting standard variant enables powered opening and closing for maximum force in both directions.
| Variant | Operation | De-pressurised position | Grip principle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Double-acting | Depends on last command | External or internal |
| FO | Single-acting | Jaws open | External gripping |
| FS | Single-acting | Jaws closed | Internal gripping |
Typical applications: SHZ parallel grippers are used in assembly and handling automation where workpieces must be gripped centrally, positioned and transferred: placement and transfer modules in electronics manufacturing, small-parts assembly lines, pick-and-place systems in packaging technology, and test stations where the workpiece must be clamped reproducibly.
