Oil brake cylinder
Cylinder
Oil brake cylinders of the XLB series combine a double-acting pneumatic cylinder with an integrated hydraulic braking unit. The oil brake absorbs the kinetic energy of the load at the end of stroke, enabling soft, shock-free deceleration even at high travel speeds and with heavy loads. Bore diameters of 50, 63, 80, and 100 mm are available with strokes from 50 to 1,000 mm. The brake configuration is encoded in the type code: the letters A, B, E, F, K, L and others indicate the specific brake valve arrangement.
| Bore (mm) | Strokes (mm) | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | 50-650 | XLB 50/50 AXXA, XLB 50/160 AXXA, XLB 50/500 KXXA |
| 63 | 80-1,000 | XLB 63/100 AXBA, XLB 63/200 LXXA, XLB 63/1000 LKKB |
| 80 | 1,000 | XLB 80/1000 LKKB |
| 100 | 400-700 | XLB 100/400 AXXA, XLB 100/700 LKXA |
Typical applications: Lifting cylinders for heavy loads with controlled lowering, press and joining units with end-position-damped stroke, transfer axes in the automotive industry at high cycle rates, and handling systems where conventional pneumatic cushioning is insufficient and a hydraulic braking characteristic is required.
