Compressed air preparation
Festo pneumatics
Festo compressed air preparation covers all components between the compressor and the consumers that ensure clean, dry and correctly pressurised compressed air: maintenance unit combinations, filter regulators, pressure regulators, lubricators, condensate drains, on/off and pressure build-up valves, pressure boosters, dryers, air distributors and accessories. The Classic series (FRC, FRCS, LF, LFR, LOE, LR) addresses the broad industrial application range; precision regulators and membrane dryers extend the programme for more demanding air quality and pressure stability requirements.

Accessories for compressed air preparationMounting brackets, threaded studs, special oil, knob heads
Device size (MINI, MIDI, MAXI) is determined by the system's nominal flow rate. Lubricators are only used when connected consumers require lubrication; oil-free systems use maintenance units without lubricators (LFR series) instead of FRC. Pressure boosters (DPA-40/63/100) are placed upstream of individual process chambers or test stations that need pressure above the network supply. For applications with membrane or solenoid valves that cannot tolerate oil, the LDM1 membrane dryer or LFX activated carbon filter must be specified.
Typical applications: compressed air preparation for assembly and handling systems, control air supply for valve islands, supply for spray guns and pneumatic tools, pressure boosting for leak testing and special grippers, control air conditioning for food industry cylinders (oil-free versions), and controlled pressure build-up on safety-critical machine starts.
