TO220 die assembly center lead spread and lock for Supercut/TS1 - Iteco 182200

An inserted TO220 easily drops out again when the board is turned over. Die assembly 182200 therefore not only moves the center lead out of the row but also forms a locking loop in that same lead, which catches under the board and holds the transistor in place until soldering.

Operating features

• Lock in the lead - the loop clamps the lead in the hole, so the part stays inserted while the board is turned or moved to wave soldering
• Offset center lead - the staggered drilling pattern widens the distances between the solder joints

Applications

TO220 parts on boards that are turned or transported before soldering, wave soldering without a component frame, and assemblies where the transistor has to stand exactly upright because it is later bolted to a heat sink.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die assembly works only in the pneumatic Supercut/TS1, which Iteco supplies without tooling under part number 7915.171. On the smaller Supercut/RS4 (7915.166) the same forming shape carries part number 162200. Changing to another forming shape of the range takes only a few moves and the machine stays the same. On request Iteco supplies the machine with a wire holder system and in a three cylinder version with custom dies for special shapes. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
