Quick couplings
The Nitto Kohki Purge HI Cupla is a quick-release coupling with an integrated purge function that controllably vents residual line pressure during disconnection, preventing compressed air or hydraulic fluid spray when uncoupling. The range includes socket types in brass (PV-x0SM) and steel (PV-x0PH, PV-65PN, PV-85PN) in nominal sizes 20, 30, 40, 65, and 85, plus purgeable return units PVR-400 to PVR-800 in brass/zinc in three connection forms (SH, SM, SF).

Typical applications: Compressed-air connections on injection moulding machines and hydraulic presses where residual line pressure must be managed during tool changes, pneumatic hose connections in paint spray booths (avoiding paint drops), food machinery pneumatics without uncontrolled blasting, and hose disconnection points in the chemical industry.

Operating principle
- Air line coupling with built-in residual air pressure release function.
- Connection can be made smoothly regardless of the existing pressure inside the socket.
- Push-to-connect operation. Easy one-hand operation.
- Built-in separation prevention mechanism prevents accidental disconnection of CUPLA, ensuring safe operation.
- Upon completion of sleeve locking the valve will open to supply air.
- When the sleeve is turned back to its original position, the valve is closed and purges residual air pressure in the plug without unpleasant popping noise and hose whip motion on disconnection.
- Even after connection, valve opening/closing control is possible.
- Flow rate increases by approximately 20 percent over that of HI CUPLA Model 400SM.

Choose PURGE HI CUPLA where an air line has to be connected regardless of the pressure standing inside the socket and the residual air pressure in the plug must be released before separation. It is one-way shut-off like HI CUPLA BL, NUT CUPLA, LOCK CUPLA 200, HI CUPLA Two Way Type, ROTARY LINE CUPLA and ROTARY PLUG: take the PVR Type for lines up to 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2} and the lever operated PV Type where 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} is enough, as with PURGE LINE CUPLA and TWIST PLUG. If both sides of the line have to close, COMPACT ZEROSPILL CUPLA with its two-way shut-off at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} is the alternative.

Interchangeability and size groups
PVR Type: can be connected with plugs of HI CUPLA models 400, 600 and 800. PV Type: Models 20, 30 and 40 can be connected to plugs of HI CUPLA Models 10, 17, 20, 30 and 40; Models 400 and 600 can be connected with plugs of HI CUPLA models 400, 600 and 800.
