Mini Cupla Super
Quick couplings
The Nitto Kohki Mini Cupla Super is a compact quick-release coupling for pneumatic applications, available in steel (plug types S2xP/S3xP) and brass (socket types S2xS/S3xS) with NBR seals. Nominal sizes S22 and S33 cover two bore diameter ranges; connections are available as G external thread (H), G internal thread (F), nipple (N), and metric (M). The Mini Cupla Super is the most compact series in the Nitto Kohki programme for standard air applications and disconnects without residual pressure.

Operating principle
- From cylinders to torches, all piping connections associated with welding and cutting equipment are push-to-connect operations.
- Plated body for better corrosion resistance.
- Heat-treated plugs for better durability.
- Oxygen and fuel gas CUPLA have different configuration sizes with sleeves in different appearances, silver colored plating for oxygen and copper colored plating for fuel gas, to prevent accidental interconnection.
- Smaller diameter design enables wider range of applications.
- Various types of end configurations have been standardized to comply with a wide range of welding and cutting equipment applications. Sockets themselves or plugs themselves are interchangeable with MINI CUPLA's counterparts.
- Push-to-connect operation (built-in automatic shut-off valve in socket).
- Heat-treated steel plugs for increased durability.

Pick MINI CUPLA SUPER when the line carries oxygen or fuel gas on welding and cutting equipment and the two media must not be joined by accident, which the separate S22 and S33 sizes with their differently plated sleeves prevent. Its working pressure of 0.7 MPa {7 kgf/cm2} is below that of the one-way shut-off siblings HI CUPLA BL, NUT CUPLA, LOCK CUPLA 200, HI CUPLA Two Way Type, ROTARY LINE CUPLA, ROTARY FULL BLOW LINE CUPLA and ROTARY PLUG at 1.5 MPa {15 kgf/cm2} and of PURGE LINE CUPLA at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2}, so those remain the choice for higher line pressures. Where the concern is spill on disconnection rather than keeping two media apart, the two-way shut-off COMPACT ZEROSPILL CUPLA at 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2} applies instead.

Interchangeability and size groups
To prevent accidental connection, CUPLA for oxygen are not interchangeable with CUPLA for fuel gas. However, plugs and sockets for oxygen are interchangeable regardless of end configurations and plugs and sockets for fuel gas are interchangeable regardless of end configurations. Can be connected with MINI CUPLA series.
Safety and application notes
- To prevent accidental connection, CUPLA for oxygen are not interchangeable with CUPLA for fuel gas.
- Fluid must run from socket to plug.
- Not suitable for vacuum application in either connected or disconnected condition.
- The operable temperature range depends on the operating conditions.
- Before use, please be sure to read 'Safety Guide' described at the end of this book and 'Instruction Sheet' that comes with the products.
