TO220 die assembly stand-off and lock-in with three leads in line - Iteco 182400

Not every layout allows a staggered drilling pattern. Die assembly 182400 therefore keeps the three leads of the TO220 in one line and instead forms a stand-off step with a locking loop in each lead, so the transistor keeps its distance from the board and still stays inserted on its own.

Operating features

• Drilling pattern stays in line - the standard layout with three holes in one row does not have to be changed
• Gap to the board - the stand-off step holds the body up, which helps cleaning and heat dissipation
• Lock in all three leads - the loops hold the transistor while the board is turned and before wave soldering
• Equal insertion depth - the step defines the height, so all transistors in a row stand at the same level
• 2000 components per hour - top feed, foot pedal release and a die change that takes only a few moves

Applications

TO220 transistors on boards with the classic in line drilling pattern, assemblies with a cleaning step after soldering, and builds that require an air gap between the component body and the board.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die assembly works only in the pneumatic Supercut/TS1, which Iteco supplies without tooling under part number 7915.171. On the smaller Supercut/RS4 (7915.166) the same forming shape carries part number 162400. Changing to another forming shape of the range takes only a few moves and the machine stays the same. On request Iteco supplies the machine with a wire holder system and in a three cylinder version with custom dies for special shapes. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
