Festo optical sensors of the SOEG and SOEC series detect objects without contact using light, delivering digital switching outputs for control and inspection tasks. The range includes retro-reflective sensors SOEG-RSP for objects with retro-reflective reflectors, diffuse-reflection sensors SOEG-RT for objects without a reflector, and colour sensors SOEC for colour detection. Housings M12 and M18 in straight and right-angle versions are available.
The M18W variants are wide-angle designs for broader detection fields. Transmitter-receiver pairs SOEG-E enable through-beam sensors for longer ranges. NPN (NS) and PNP (PS) switching outputs and cable (K) or connector (S) connections cover all common control types.

Typical applications: Object presence checking on conveyors and in feed systems, colour detection and sorting by colour marks in packaging, part counting in assembly lines, label presence verification on products, and detection of transparent objects using retro-reflective sensors with retroreflective film reflectors.
