Soldering tips CT2
Soldering tips
Weller CT2 soldering tips operate on the Curie temperature principle and are designed for MAGNASTAT-compatible soldering irons. The range offers chisel forms exclusively in four widths (7 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm) and two temperature grades (E7 = 370 °C, E8 = 425 °C), plus bent variants (EX7, EX8, FX8) for restricted-access joints. The tip widths from 7 mm to 11 mm and temperatures of 370 °C and 425 °C target medium to large THT components and wide SMD pads.
| Model | Shape | Width | Temperature |
|---|---|---|---|
| CT2 E7 | Chisel | 7 mm | 370 °C |
| CT2 E8 | Chisel | 7 mm | 425 °C |
| CT2 EX7 | Chisel bent | 7 mm | 370 °C |
| CT2 EX8 | Chisel bent | 7 mm | 425 °C |
| CT2 F7 | Chisel | 10 mm | 370 °C |
| CT2 F8 | Chisel | 10 mm | 425 °C |
| CT2 FX8 | Chisel bent | 10 mm | 425 °C |
| CT2 G8 | Chisel | 11 mm | 425 °C |
Typical applications: Soldering and repair of transformers, relays, and connectors with wide THT pins, tinning of wire strands and bus bars, soldering on ground planes with high thermal dissipation, and use without a separate temperature-control station due to Curie self-limiting behaviour.
