Soldering tips RTU-MS
Soldering tips
The Weller RTU-MS series ("RT Ultra") covers MIL-SPEC-qualified micro soldering tips for WXMP and WMRP irons, with particular strength in broad-spectrum geometries. The range extends from ultra-fine conical tips (RTU 003 C L MS, 0.3 mm) through chisel types from 1.5x0.4 mm to 9.3x2 mm, and on to blade-form tips from 10 mm (RTU 100 K MS) to 33 mm width (RTU 330 K MS). The "L" variants are extended length (e.g. RTU 032 S L MS chisel long 3.2x0.8 mm) for deep access positions. MIL-SPEC certification to J-STD-001 Class 3 is available for all types.
A distinguishing feature of the Ultra line is the large blade-form tips (RTU 160 K MS 16 mm; RTU 200 K MS 20 mm; RTU 330 K MS 33 mm) not found in the standard RTM-MS range. These blade geometries enable simultaneous soldering or desoldering of multiple closely-spaced pins on SOIC, PLCC or SOP packages.
The RTU ("Ultra") series extends the RTM-MS with large blade geometries (10-33 mm) for simultaneous multi-pin soldering and with long tips (L) for deep access. RTU 050 S MS (5.0x1.2 mm) and RTU 076 S MS (7.6x1.5 mm) cover chisel widths not present in the RTM-MS range. Both series are compatible with WXMP and WMRP irons and carry MIL-SPEC certification.
Typical applications: Rework and desoldering of SOIC, SOP, PLCC and other multi-lead SMD packages using blade tips, soldering in regulated environments to MIL-STD-2000 and J-STD-001 Class 3, aerospace electronics, defence electronics, precision soldering in deep-access positions with long tips, and manufacturing processes requiring documented material traceability.
