Soldering tips
The Weller XTR soldering tip series is a variant of the XT line featuring an integrated anti-rotation mechanism that prevents unintended twisting of the tip on the iron. The range includes five chisel-form types from XTR-A (1.6x0.7 mm) to XTR-E (5.9x1.2 mm). The mechanical anti-rotation feature maintains tip geometry orientation during soldering, which is relevant in angled work or frequent tip changes in production environments.
| Type | Shape | Dimension |
|---|---|---|
| XTR-A | Chisel with anti-rotation | 1.6x0.7 mm |
| XTR B | Chisel with anti-rotation | 2.4x0.8 mm |
| XTR-C (T0054474999) | Chisel with anti-rotation | 1.6x0.7 mm |
| XTR-C (T0054472599) | Chisel with anti-rotation | 3.2x0.8 mm |
| XTR-E | Chisel with anti-rotation | 5.9x1.2 mm |
The anti-rotation feature of XTR tips is particularly advantageous in production environments where irons are frequently set down and picked up again, and where reproducible tip orientation is required. The geometries match the standard XT tips, so XTR types can serve as direct replacements with added positional security. All XTR tips are compatible with XT series soldering irons.
Typical applications: Series production with standardised soldering processes where fixed tip orientation improves process reliability, workstations with frequent tip changes, shared workstations with multiple operators, and any application where rotation of the standard XT tip is disruptive. The available chisel widths (1.6-5.9 mm) cover both THT and SMD work.
