Soldering tips

Weller PT soldering tips are the universal series for PT-compatible Weller soldering irons and, with 48 items, offer one of the widest shape selections in the Weller range. Chisel forms (PT-A to PT-E) run from 1.6x0.7 mm to 5.6x1.2 mm; bevelled round forms (PT-AA, PT-BB, PT-CC, PT-DD, PT-F) from 1.2 mm to 5 mm diameter; plus round tips (PT-CS). Each shape group is available in three temperature grades: type 7 (370 °C), type 8 (425 °C), and type 9 (480 °C). The 480 °C variants (PT-AA9, PT-B9, PT-C9, PT-D9, PT-E9) are designed for lead-free high-temperature processes and high-thermal-mass joints.

Type 7 (370 °C) - for tin-lead alloys (Sn63Pb37), standard assembly on single-layer boards
Type 8 (425 °C) - for lead-free alloys (SAC305) and medium thermal mass
Type 9 (480 °C) - for high thermal mass, ground pads, thick traces, and hard-to-wet surfaces
🛠 Bevelled round forms PT-AA to PT-DD - more versatile than pure chisel, for angled pads and cable ends

Typical applications: Manual SMD and THT soldering of all difficulty levels with PT-compatible Weller stations, high-temperature lead-free soldering at 480 °C (PT type 9) on thermally massive assemblies, rework and repair with temperature selection by solder alloy, and versatile deployment planning across the full 1.2 mm to 5.6 mm shape range.
